How to Use RU58841: Dose, Application, and Timing

This documents how RU58841 is actually used, drawn from years of community practice — not a set of instructions and not medical advice. With that said, "how do I use this" is the most-asked question after "where do I buy it," and the answers are more consistent than the arguments about them suggest.

The standard dose

The figure the community has settled on is 50 mg per day, which is why solutions are mixed at 50 mg/mL and the standard application is 1 mL once daily. Some people run less, especially starting out; few run more. It's a daily compound — consistency matters more than the exact milligram.

Measuring 1 mL without a lab

This is where the format you bought decides how annoying your morning is. With a dropper you're eyeballing a pipette line. With a spray, the math is done for you: roughly six to seven pumps is 1 mL, so a daily dose is just a repeatable number of sprays across the area — no measuring, no pipette. It's a small thing that you do 365 times a year.

Applying it

  • Dry scalp. Users generally report applying to a dry scalp, not straight out of the shower — water on the scalp dilutes and runs.
  • Target the area, not the hair. It needs to reach skin. Part, apply, move to the next section.
  • Let it dry before anything else touches it — a few minutes.

Timing with minoxidil

If you run both (a common pairing — see the stack), the usual practice is to space them rather than mix them in one bottle, and to let the first fully dry before the second. Combining them in a single solution is where people quietly lose potency; keeping them separate protects the RU.

Morning or night?

Either works; pick the one you'll actually keep to. Many run it in the evening on a dry scalp after the day's showering and styling are done, so nothing washes it off.

Storage — so the dose survives

A perfect application is wasted if the bottle degraded on your shelf. Keep it sealed, out of direct light, cool; refrigerating extends it; never freeze the solution. The full storage logic — and why the "mix fresh weekly" belief is mostly a myth for a proper solution — is in powder vs pre-made.

The mistakes that quietly waste it

  • Applying to wet hair, so half of it runs off.
  • Under-dosing from a badly measured dropper — the case for a spray.
  • Mixing it into minoxidil and degrading it.
  • Storing it in warmth and light.
  • Quitting at the week-three shed, before it's had a chance — see what's normal and what isn't.

FAQ

How much RU58841 per day?
The community standard is 50 mg — 1 mL of a 5% solution — once daily.

How many sprays is that?
Roughly six to seven pumps make up 1 mL.

Wet or dry scalp?
Dry. Water dilutes it and helps it run off.

Can I apply it twice a day?
Most run it once daily. Splitting the dose is done but isn't the norm; consistency at one daily application is what people credit.
