#1 Strongest Hair Loss Solution - Maximum Strength Topical DHT Blocker
What is RU?
RU is a nonsteroidal androgen receptor antagonist, first developed in the 1990s and never taken to market. It is a research compound. It is not an approved medicine, and no regulator has assessed it for hair loss. We are not going to dress that up.
How it works
Pattern hair loss is a signalling problem. DHT binds androgen receptors inside the follicle and instructs it to shrink; every cycle it lands, the hair comes back finer, until one cycle it doesn't come back at all.
RU occupies that receptor. With the receptor taken, DHT has nowhere to deliver the instruction. It is designed to do this in the skin you put it on rather than by lowering DHT throughout your body the way an oral blocker does — which is the reason most people who find their way to it are coming off finasteride rather than starting it.
What it does not do: push growth. It removes the thing causing the loss. If you want an accelerator as well, that is what minoxidil is for.
How to use it
Six to seven pumps is roughly 1 ml -1,5 ml — that is the daily dose. Part the hair and put it on the scalp, not the hair; the receptors are in the skin. Let it dry fully. Nothing to rinse.
Once a day, same time, ideally at night. More is not better — a receptor can only be occupied once, and the surplus buys you irritation, not hair. Photograph the same spot, same light, once a month.
What to expect, honestly
Weeks 0–4: nothing visible, and possibly more shedding than usual as follicles reset their cycle. It reads like failure. It usually isn't.
Months 1–2: the shedding settles. Loss slows before anything grows. This is where most people quit.
Months 3–4: fine, pale hairs at the temples and hairline — easy to miss without the baseline photo you took in week one.
Month 6+: the earliest point a fair verdict is possible. Compare photographs, not memories. Some people hold the line and never regrow much; holding the line is itself the result.
Suitability and safety
There are no completed clinical trials in humans, so there is no safety profile in the sense a medicine has one. What exists is preclinical work and two decades of self-reported use.
Patch-test on a small area first. Stop if the skin reacts. Do not use it if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive. If you are on any prescribed treatment, or you have a scalp condition, speak to a doctor before you start — and if you would rather have an approved medicine with trial data behind it, finasteride and minoxidil are exactly that, and we will tell you so.
Batch, freshness and storage
Every bottle have lot number, blend date and expiry. That matters more here than it does for most things: RU58841 degrades over time, so a bottle's age is part of what you are buying. We blend in small runs for that reason rather than filling a warehouse.
Store it cool, dry and out of direct sunlight. The certificate of analysis for your lot is available on request.
" RU is a research compound. It is not an approved medicine in the EU, no regulator has assessed it for hair loss, and nobody can promise you an outcome — us least of all. What we can do is tell you exactly what is in the bottle, how old it is, and who tested it. If that isn't enough for you, don't order; write to us instead. "
What people actually report.
Unedited, good and bad, including the ones about slow parcels. Individual results and timelines vary, and some people get nothing.

What DHT does to a hair follicle.
Not stress. Not your shampoo. Not the water where you live. One hormone gives the same order to the follicle, cycle after cycle, and every time the hair comes back a little thinner. Here is the chain, and where this breaks it.
- 01
DHT reaches the follicle
Testosterone converts into DHT. In a susceptible scalp it binds androgen receptors inside the follicle. The receptor is the lock. DHT is the key.
- 02
The follicle shrinks, cycle by cycle
Every time that key turns, the growth phase gets shorter. Hair returns finer, shorter, weaker. That is miniaturisation, and it runs quietly for years before a mirror admits it.
- 03
RU occupies the lock
RU58841 is a nonsteroidal androgen receptor antagonist. It sits in the receptor so DHT cannot deliver its instruction — at the scalp, which is the only place the damage is happening.
- 04
It is designed to work where you put it
You apply it to skin. It is built to act locally rather than by lowering DHT across your whole body the way a daily pill does. That single difference is why most people arrive here from finasteride rather than instead of it.
Why waiting is the expensive part
A miniaturised follicle can still recover. A follicle that has finished the process cannot. Every cycle you wait, more of the first group quietly joins the second. That is not a sales tactic, it is arithmetic — and it is the only genuine reason to start sooner rather than later.
Why minoxidil on its own runs out of road
Minoxidil extends the growth phase. It does nothing whatsoever to the signal causing the loss. It is the accelerator, not the brake — you end up growing hair into a headwind, and the day you stop, the hair it borrowed goes back.
How hair loss starts.
Your body turns testosterone into a hormone called DHT. Inside every hair follicle there is a docking point for it — the keyhole in the picture.
When DHT locks into that docking point, the follicle is told to grow a thinner hair next time. That is the whole problem, and it happens under the skin. It is why shampoo, oils and a better diet do not reach it.
Hair does not fall out. It shrinks.
Each follicle in the picture is the same one, a growth cycle later. Every cycle the hair comes back thinner, shorter and lighter.
That is why you can lose a lot of hair before you ever see a bald spot — you simply have less of everything. A thinned follicle can still recover. One that has stopped completely cannot. That is the only honest reason not to leave it.
You cannot stop your body making DHT. Where RU interrupts it
You cannot stop your body making DHT.
RU works the other way round — it sits in the docking point first, so DHT has nowhere to lock in.
The hormone still moves around your body exactly as before. It just cannot give the shrink order in that follicle. Worth being clear: it does not make hair grow. It removes the reason the hair was shrinking.
Why a spray and not a pill.
A pill has only one way to reach your scalp: lower DHT in your whole body. That is also where its side effects come from. These are the ones on finasteride's official label:
- Reduced sex drive
- Erection problems
- Ejaculation problems
- Breast tenderness and swelling
- Low mood
- In some men, symptoms that carry on after stopping
RU goes on your scalp and was built to work there.
Sixty seconds, once a day.
Four steps, no device, nothing to rinse out.
Start dry
A clean, completely dry scalp. Water sitting on the skin dilutes the dose and carries it off.
Apply
Six to seven pumps is roughly 1 ml. Part the hair and put it on the skin, not the hair.
Work it in
Spread it across the thinning area with your fingertips. More is not better — the surplus buys irritation, not hair.
Let it dry
Give it a few minutes before a pillow or a hat. Wipe it off while it is still wet and it never gets into the skin at all.
Research compound. The batch documentation ships with your order.
What happens while you see nothing.
Nothing shows in the mirror for a while, and that is normal. The follicle first has to finish shedding the hair it was holding, then rest, then start growing again.
Each of those steps takes weeks. That is why month two feels like failure, and why six months is the first fair moment to judge it.
What to expect, month by month.
A follicle grows for years, rests, sheds and starts again — and the handovers are months apart, not days. That is the clock everything below runs on. Here is the honest sequence, including the month that makes most people give up three weeks before it would have started working.
-
WEEKS 0–4
Baseline — and possibly a shed
Take your photographs on day one; you will not trust your memory later. Some people shed harder in the first weeks as follicles reset their cycle. It looks exactly like the product failing. It usually is not.
-
MONTHS 1–2
The shedding settles
Loss slows before anything grows back. Nothing in the mirror rewards you yet. This is the stage most people never get past.
-
MONTHS 3–4
First new growth
Fine, pale hairs at the temples and hairline. Genuinely easy to miss without the baseline photo — which is the whole reason you took it.
-
MONTH 6 AND BEYOND
An honest verdict
Six months is the earliest point a fair judgement is possible. Compare photographs, not memories. And be clear about what counts as a win: for a lot of people the result is that the recession stopped, not that it reversed.
Everything you could take, side by side.

A comparison of mechanisms, not medical advice. Minoxidil and finasteride are approved medicines with decades of randomised trials behind them, and finasteride has the longest evidence base of anything here. RU-58841, CB-03-01 and pyrilutamide are research compounds: none of them is an approved hair-loss medicine today. The Phase 3 figures quoted for clascoterone come from the formulation another company is taking through approval, not from ours, and no cortisol data from those hair trials has been published. The pyrilutamide trial results come from the manufacturer and are not yet published. GHK-Cu is a copper peptide included here as scalp support, not as a regrowth treatment. The natural column covers topical caffeine, rosemary oil and saw palmetto, where the human data is real but thin. Prices are rough monthly estimates and vary by dose, bottle size and brand, and each assumes the routine on that product's own page. Speak to a doctor before you start or stop anything.
The questions people actually email us.
Is this the same thing as finasteride?
No. Finasteride is an approved oral medicine that lowers DHT throughout your body. This is a topical androgen receptor antagonist — it blocks the receptor at the scalp instead of lowering the hormone everywhere. Finasteride has decades of randomised trial data behind it and this does not, which is a genuine point in finasteride's favour and we are not going to hide it.
Why do people switch to it from finasteride?
Almost always because of how they felt on the pill. We are not going to make a safety claim we cannot support — there are no completed human trials here, so nobody can honestly tell you this is safer. What is true is that it is applied to the scalp rather than swallowed. Draw your own conclusion from that, and talk to a doctor if you are unsure.
How do I use it, and how much?
About 1 ml — six or seven pumps — on a dry scalp, once a day. Let it dry. That is the entire routine.
When would I see anything?
Less shedding somewhere in the first 4–8 weeks for most people, first new growth around month 3, and a fair verdict at month 6. If you judge it at week three you will judge it wrong.
My shedding got worse. Is it not working?
Early shedding is common as follicles reset their growth cycle, and it settles. It is also the single most common reason people bin a bottle that was about to start working. If it is still worsening at month three, write to us.
Are there side effects?
The honest answer is that nobody has run the trials that would tell you properly. Locally, scalp irritation and dryness are what people report most. Patch-test first, stop if you react, and do not use it if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive.
How do I know the bottle is genuine and fresh?
We blend it ourselves in the EU — not rebottled, not dropshipped, not sat in a warehouse. Lot number, blend date and expiry are on every bottle, and the independent assay for your lot is available on request. RU58841 degrades with time, so the age of the bottle in your hand is part of what you paid for.
Shipping, packaging and returns?
Ships from the EU, typically 3–5 days, in plain packaging with nothing on the outside indicating what is inside. Unopened bottles can be returned within 14 days.
What else the lab makes.
RU58841 Topical Solution
Occupies the androgen receptor so DHT cannot deliver its signal to the follicle.
This is the cause, not the symptom. On its own it will not push a dormant follicle back into growth.
Pyrilutamide 0.5% (KX-826)
A newer topical androgen-receptor antagonist. Different molecule, same target as RU-58841.
For people who do not tolerate RU. Run one blocker or the other, not both.
CB-03-01 2.5/5% (Clascoterone)
Blocks the androgen receptor at the follicle, then breaks down in the skin into an inactive form.
The only one here that finished phase 3. Clascoterone sold much cheaper elsewhere is usually weaker than the label says.
Minoxidil 5%
Extends the growth phase so follicles stay active longer. It does nothing to the hormone driving the loss.
Pairs with a blocker, never replaces one. Stop it and the growth it borrowed goes back.
Ketoconazole Shampoo
An antifungal wash that handles the flaking and irritation sitting underneath a lot of shedding.
Two or three washes a week, alongside a blocker. It is not a blocker itself.
GHK-CU Copper Peptide Spray
A copper peptide that works on the condition of the scalp itself. Not an antiandrogen; it does nothing to DHT.
For scalp quality. On its own it will not hold a receding hairline.
Natural Hair Regrowth Serum
Caffeine, rosemary and botanical oils. Scalp support, and the mildest thing in the range.
A leg of the routine, not the whole table. It does not block DHT.
