About Us

Folliva Labs is a European laboratory. We research compounds for hair loss, formulate them ourselves, and blend them in the EU.

Why this exists

Finding out what actually works for hair loss is absurdly hard, and that is the whole reason we are here.

Everything in this field is either a study you cannot get at, a forum thread you cannot verify, or a bottle from a supplier who will not answer an email. So you end up experimenting on your own head, in the dark, with no way of knowing which of the things you bought did nothing. Most men reading this have already paid for something useless. They usually cannot even tell you which one it was.

We got tired of not knowing. So we started reading the actual literature, sourcing the actual compounds, and formulating them properly — and testing them on ourselves before anyone else went near them. That has not changed. We still run what we make on our own scalps first.

How we work

We look for compounds with a mechanism, not a marketing story. A great deal in this category exists because it sells, not because it does anything. We are interested in the small number of things that have a published, plausible reason to work — and we say so plainly when the human evidence behind them is thin, because for several of them it is.

We formulate them ourselves. The molecule is the easy part. Anyone can buy the molecule. What it is dissolved in decides whether it gets through the skin, whether it stays where you put it, and whether your hair ends up looking like you slept in a chip pan. That is where the actual work is, and it is the part nobody publishes.

We blend in the EU, in small batches. These compounds degrade — time, heat and light are what degrade them — so the age of the bottle in your hand is part of the specification, not a detail. Every bottle carries its batch number, its blend date and its expiry, so you never have to guess.

Every batch is tested by an independent laboratory before it ships. Not by us, and not on our word. If a batch is not what the label says, it does not go out. You should not have to take a seller's word for what is in a bottle — so ask us about your batch, and we will tell you what came back.

What we will not tell you

We will not tell you what is going to happen to your hair.

Several of the compounds we work with are research compounds. They are not approved medicines, they have no approved human indication, and the large human trials that would settle the question were never run. There is no honest way to make those sentences more comfortable, so we do not try.

What we can be held to is narrower and more useful: what is in the bottle, who formulated it, how old it is, and what an independent laboratory found when it tested it. That is the whole of our claim. We would rather state it small than dress it up.

None of this is the cheap way to do it

Testing every batch independently costs money that most sellers in this category quietly skip. Small batches cost more per bottle than one big one. Formulating properly takes longer than buying something finished and putting a new sticker on it.

We do it anyway. We wanted this to exist and it did not, and the people buying it are dealing with exactly the thing we were dealing with.

Before you order

Tell us what you are actually dealing with — how long, where, what you have already tried — and we will tell you straight whether this is the right step, including when it is not. Write to us.
